BEAUTIFUL BALLROOM
Advanced course starting soon
You can be AVERAGE, GOOD, EXCELLENT or OUTSTANDING. Be the best YOU can be!
Do you want to dance to a higher standard than an average social dancer? Then you need to join a group with the same goals because the journey towards excellence is ongoing and you will only be as good as the level taught in your class. Enjoy learning to dance with correct technique - it's the only way to become the best dancer YOU can be. You don't have to actually do the medal tests if you don't want to, just make it your hobby.
ADVANCED SOCIAL & BRONZE MEDAL COURSE
Starts 6.00pm Monday 6th May 2013.
Bronze routines are Waltz & Quickstep.
Click on these dances to see an inspiring demonstration of Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Viennese Waltz. You eventually learn all of these dances as you move up through the medals.
You will need to have a partner as there won't be any swapping during the class but we will put you on our ‘partners required’ list and do what we can to get you dancing if you don't have your own partner arranged.
Please note that you need to book in advance to join this course. Contact Christine now to secure your place.

SOCIAL DANCE FOR BEGINNERS
New courses starting soon!
Do you have a wedding, a Ball or party coming up? Do you just want to look good and feel confident on the social dance floor?
Foxtrot & Waltz
6 week course starts 6.00pm Tuesday 7th May.
If you continue for a further 6 weeks you will learn
Square Rumba & Mo'Jive
In our social dance courses we teach you the dances you could expect to do at social gatherings. We teach moves in those dances which can be easily led and can be used on dance floors where there's not much space. You will learn how to lead (for men) and follow (for ladies) so you can dance with anyone. We also teach you how to listen to music so you can pick out the beat to stay in time and you'll be taught the characteristics of each dance so you can choose which one will suit the music you're listening to. We also cover dance floor etiquette so all dancers can enjoy sharing the floor at the same time.
This course is for absolute beginners - you don't need any previous dance experience. If you don't have your own partner we may be able to provide one for you but you'll need to book in as soon as possible.
PRICE DETAILS: $15 per person if paying weekly or
$78 for 6 weeks if paid in full on your first night.
Please note that you need to book in advance.

LEARN TO DANCE MODERN JIVE!
12 week beginner's course starts
8.30pm Tuesday 19th March
Modern Jive (Mo'Jive) is quite possibly the most useful social dance you will ever learn. Since 1994 Christine has taught well over 5000 Hamiltonians to dance Mo'Jive so you'll see it danced a lot when you're out socialising. See more details about Mo'Jive here.
If you're not sure what Mo'Jive looks like, here's a couple of videos from our YouTube channel. Both are in a Showcase format (choreographed for performance) but give you a good idea of what the dance can look like. The first one is a mix of Beginner & Intermediate moves, the second is Advanced.
What you will learn in this course
It is assumed that pupils in this class have no dance experience at all. Being a structured dance class, you will be taught in a way which increases your knowledge and skills week by week. You will learn:
The core movements which all Mo'Jive moves are based on.
How to dance on time to the music.
How to lead / follow so you can dance with anyone.
(For men) how to put moves together so you can mix them up (freestyle) instead of just dancing routines.
(For ladies) how to add a little style to make basic moves look better and more fun.
Everything it's useful to know before moving up to the Improver level.
About partnering:
You don't need to enrol with a partner to join the class.
If you enrol with your own partner you have the choice of staying with that partner all of the time or rotating.
If you enrol on your own you will change partners constantly throughout the class.
Price details:
$15 per person per night or discounted to $78 per person per 6 week block payable on the first night of the block.
12 week block course for Beginners starts:
8.30pm Tuesday 19th March.
You need to book in advance for this course.

SALSA FOR BEGINNERS
New course starting soon!
Salsa is a Latin dance form originating in Cuba. It is normally a partner dance although it can be danced solo (shines) and in a round-dance format (rueda). It has become a popular dance all around the world and has evolved into many different styles due to geographical and cultural differences. In our Studio we teach a generic Salsa (breaking on '1') using moves common to all styles so you can dance it with anyone from anywhere.
This course is for absolute beginners - you don't need any previous dance experience. Your teacher is the very experienced and popular Eamonn Jefferies. His pupils enjoy his fun and relaxed style of teaching.
6 week course starts 7.15pm Thursday 14th February. Partners are not necessary for this course.
Please note that you need to book in advance.
