PRESENTATION & PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS
WITH BRIAN JONES (Dancer / Teacher / Choreographer)

Three unmissable workshops for all dancers, in all styles, of all levels and from any Studio.

Does the thought of performing in public or in front of an Examiner or Judge scare the hell out of you? Does your attempted smile look more like a petrified grimace? Do you feel a bit of a fraud trying to pretend you belong on the floor? Brian will teach you how to exude confidence and calm even though you’re quaking in your shoes. You’ll glean the best tips & techniques from Brian’s years of experience in theatre arts to help you be the best you can be.

These Workshops will be invaluable for dancers preparing to perform for a medal test, a showcase or a competition.

Bring It On 2012!
New year, new classes...

IT’S A BRIGHT NEW YEAR
Xmas is all done & dusted – phew! It can run you ragged and get you frazzled but I hope you had a cracker time and that Santa brought you lots of good things. If you’re one of those who have made a New Year resolution to get out and do something for yourself in 2012, here’s some ideas for you:

LEARN TO DANCE BALLROOM & LATIN
*Waltz *Foxtrot *Cha Cha
7.15pm Thursdays starting 9 February.

If you're completely new to social dancing, this is the place to start. In this dance course we teach you the 3 dances most useful at social gatherings such as weddings, balls and parties. You will learn how to lead (for men) and follow (for ladies) so you can dance with anyone. We also teach you how to listen to music so you can pick out the beat to stay in time and you’ll be taught the characteristics of each dance so you can choose which one will suit the music you’re listening to. We also cover dance floor etiquette so all our dancers can enjoy sharing the floor at the same time.

The hardest step is walking in the door and you won’t regret taking it – you’ll be opening up a whole new social world for yourself. More info...

PRIVATE LESSONS
If you want to learn a dance to go with your own special music for your wedding or if you prefer to learn to dance ‘one-on-one’ rather than in a group, private lessons are available many evenings during the week on an hourly basis. More info...

BALLROOM & LATIN – Stage 2
8.30pm Tuesdays starting 17 January. If you’ve already completed the first 6 weeks of a beginner Social Ballroom & Latin course and are wanting to carry on learning more moves and dances, this is the course for you. Don’t worry if it’s been a while and you can’t quite remember everything as everyone’s going to need a reminder following the Xmas break anyway. More info...

SALSA – beyond the basics
6.00pm Mondays re-starting 16 January. This class has been going for 13 weeks but if you’re already confident with the rhythm, timing, basic moves and turns of the salsa you are welcome to join in. More info...

ARGENTINE TANGO for Beginners
6.00pm Tuesdays starting 17 January. The current class are loving their lessons with Eamonn and having seen many of them dancing at our last dance party, I can tell you their dancing is beautiful to watch. If you missed out last time, here’s another opportunity for you to learn this mesmerising dance. More info...

SHOWCASE TEAM
8.30pm Mondays starting 16 January. You will be taught dance routines which have been choreographed to chosen pieces of music with the aim of performing them in front of an audience at themed parties (although there’ll be no pressure for you to do so if you just want to be part of the team for classes only). The dance styles will vary for each song so you’ll be learning some new dances as well. More info...

SOCIAL DANCE CLUB – basic social ballroom & latin experience needed
8.30pm Wednesdays re-starting 18 January. Our Dance Club is for dancers who have learnt the basics of the Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba & Jive and want to have somewhere to dance each week to keep in practice, learn new moves and socialise with other dance junkies. You will learn other dances as well (e.g. New Vogue, Viennese Waltz etc) as the class continues throughout the year. This is a fantastic class to choose if you want to continue advancing your social dancing but don’t want to join a technical Medal Test class. More info...

BALLROOM – Silver Medal class
7.15pm Mondays re-starting 16 January. This class has just completed learning their Bronze Bar routines and is about to start learning to dance the Ballroom Tango for the first time. If you have been in a medal class beyond Bronze Bar (it doesn’t matter where or when) and want to get back into medal test dancing, this would be the best class to join. More info...

NEW VOGUE – Silver Medal class
8.30pm Mondays re-starting 16 January. This class has learnt Gypsy Tap, Merrilyn, Tangoette, Parma Waltz and Charmaine and will continue to learn all 15 of the New Vogue dances. If you have learnt these 5 dances before, now would be the best time to join in as we’re just about to start polishing them to Silver level and then will be learning a new dance. More info...

LATIN AMERICAN – Silver Medal class
7.15pm Wednesdays re-starting 18 January. If you want to get back into Latin American dancing, this class is just part way through the first dance of their Silver routines, the Rumba. This is their first introduction to Rumba so it’s a good time to join in if you’ve been part of a medal class (it doesn’t matter where or when) to at least Bronze Bar level. More info...

ZUMBA® – JOIN THE PARTY!
Our summer class schedule starts Monday 16th and there are changes to start times for most classes. The new times are: Mondays 5.45pm, Tuesdays 7.15pm, Wednesdays 5.45pm, Thursdays 5.45pm All classes will be for one hour only and a mix of fast and slow rhythms to suit all fitness levels and beginners through to experienced. More info...

CAN’T DECIDE WHICH CLASS IS FOR YOU?
Feel free to give Christine a call to discuss your past experience (if any) and which class would suit you best. More info...

NO DANCE PARTNER? NO WORRIES.
You’ll need a partner for all classes except Zumba. If you don’t have your own partner we will put you on our ‘partner required’ list and do what we can to get you dancing. If you do need for us to organise a partner, it’s advisable to enrol as soon as you can. More info...
