NEWS: SUNDAY 31st JANUARY 2010

CEROC’S ROCKIN’

Get the most out of your holiday weekend by partying until it ends. Yes, Ceroc classes are still running on Monday night – there’s no boring, stay-at-home rest for the wicked. What? You’ve never been to a Ceroc class before? Then how can you say you’ve lived?! This is the perfect time to introduce some balance into your life. Fill 2010 with fun, fitness and friends – become another CSD party animal.

For the whole of February we have 2 extra casual Ceroc classes for you to choose from. There’s a Beginner class on Thursdays at 7pm and a Beginner Plus class on Tuesdays at 7pm. Being casual classes, you don’t need to book – just turn up. The routines will be different from the Monday classes. If you’re in the Teams class afterwards, you can join in the casual class for free.

We can still get you into the teams if you’re tempted. I know it’s scary but hey......it’s 2010......a new decade......challenge yourself.....you might actually enjoy it.

If you’re at Intermediate Ceroc level you’ll probably want to make sure your freestyling skills are brushed up in time for the next dance party because that’s when we’re having our annual Intermediate Jack & Jill competition. Details coming soon.

ZUMBA’S ROCKIN’

Yep – we sure know how to put on a ssssizzling cardio party and I’m not just talking about the temperature and lightning storms. We’re having an absolute blast. The music, the movement, the video, the lighting, the crowd.....it all adds to the party atmosphere and makes you forget you’re actually exercising.

I’m starting to get feedback about the tremendous fitness and weight loss results you’re getting through coming to Zumba. If you don’t mind sharing your achievements, please email me your testimonials to put on our website and inspire others.

Zumba Kidz & Zumba Mumz start 9th February and very soon after there’ll be a Zumba Gold class especially for the totally unfit and those who are unable to move freely. More details on that one soon.

OTHER COURSES ARE ROLLIN’ UP
The Adult Hip Hop course is also really popular but we can still fit you in. Bron runs a really fun class that absolute beginners will love. If you’re a dancer already in another style, Hip Hop can enhance your musicality and teach you how to isolate parts of your body to get you moving in ways you never thought you could. Another great plus.....you don’t need a partner.

There’s also room for you to join the Social Dance course. The Foxtrot and Waltz are essentials to know if you want to get out into the huge Hamilton social dance scene. Cha Cha and Salsa are also very useful to know. If you don’t have your own partner, book in quick.

Dancesport classes are for those who want to go further than social dancing. It’s Ballroom and Latin where you learn to be the best you can be.

SAY YES TO LIFE - COME & PARTY WITH US!

NEWS: FRIDAY 11th DECEMBER 2009

WOW! THAT WENT FAST!

We’re at the end of 2009 already. I guess it’s true that time flies when you’re having fun and that’s what we’re about – fun, fitness & friends.

I know this time of year can be frantic but try to take time to stop and admire the Xmas decorations all around and to remember happy times......like our.......

...CRACKER OF A PARTY
Our Xmas dance party was a blast and such an awesome note to finish the year on. In case you weren’t able to be there, these are the winners of the 2009 Ceroc Hamilton Awards:

  • The Backslaps Award (for the happiest & most enthusiastic dancer) went to Warren Allen.
  • The Squeezebox Award (for the best talker while they’re dancing) went to Gordon Adamson.
  • The Breakthru Award (for the most improved dancer) went to Alan Jones.
  • The Butterfly Award (for a quiet achiever) went to Wendy Ranger.
  • The Pretzel Award (for the most creative dancer) went to Nick Clarkson.
  • The Basket Award (for a special contributor to Ceroc Hamilton) went to Lindsay & Janetta Wain.

Photo’s from the party plus video’s of our two team demo’s are now available in the gallery. Click here to check them out!

    OUR NEW YEAR PARTY DELAYED
There are some great places to go on New Years Eve in Hamilton this year (The Workers for one [make sure Eddie Low sings his Song Of Home – gorgeous Waltz]) so we’ve delayed our first party for 2010 until 8th January. As usual for our New Year party, part of the entry fee will be food to be donated to the Salvation Army or SPCA so look out for specials on baked beans and chicken flavoured kitten food in the meantime. More details soon.

OTHER THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Ceroc: The first classes start Monday 4th January. The Intermediate Plus class is changing to 7.00pm so that it gives you a little more time to get there and also it’ll be a little cooler upstairs. Beginner routines are being updated and video’s of those routines will be put on our website to help you remember what you’ve learnt. We’ll be starting new Beginner and Intermediate (maybe also Advanced) Team routines so make a New Years Resolution to step outside your comfort zone. At this point in time we still have to confirm a date but sometime mid year we will be putting on the very first Hamilton Ceroc Championships and we’ll be looking for volunteers to help with the organising soon.

Zumba: At last I’m allowed to tell you. The reason Berdine hasn’t been able to front the classes lately is that she’s been feeling a little ‘sick’ and has been under doctors orders to ‘take it easy’. Yes!...Berdine and Jason are having a baby! Berdine is still able to use her fantastic creative skills though and is working on putting together some pumping party routines using a mix of old favourites and some awesome new body toning pieces. The first class for 2010 starts Tuesday 12th January. Also coming up will be our new Zumba Kidz class...all will be revealed soon.

Ballroom & Latin: Existing social and medal test classes re-start the week of 11th – 15th January but new classes for beginners will be a little later. We will also soon be offering after school classes for kids who want to learn how to dance Ballroom & Latin for hobby and performance (as opposed to social) purposes.

Hip Hop: I’ve been getting heaps of enquiry for another class for adults so Bronwen’s all set to start a new routine for absolute beginners on 2nd February. Once again, details will be available soon but you should start planning your 2010 fun, fitness & friends schedule early before work, toil & labour fills the blank spaces.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
On behalf of everyone at CSD, thanks heaps for being a part of our family this year. We hope your Christmas is filled with love, laughter and blessings ever after. See you in 2010.

    KARAMU TRAIL TREK PHOTOS

It was wet, it was mucky, it was fan-tas-tic and I can’t wait to do it again. This was no namby-pamby walk around a paddock – oh no! Only two of our group were experienced riders, one being Nash here who gets the prize for the most mud-splattered horse & rider. The rest of us were pretty much beginners however we all managed to keep our backsides (a part of our anatomy that will no doubt keep the memory alive for the next few days) safely attached to our saddles. Check out the photos here!

Let me know if you want to be part of the next group and we’ll sort out a date to suit (soon I hope).

    PINK PARTY PIX
Our most recent dance party was loads of fun! Plenty of dance junkies dressed in pink to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month as these photos show.

Don't forget you can plan your dance diary well ahead of time using the dates in our calendar. See you at the next one!
